Salon International is the most important event on any hairdresser’s calendar. We’re fresh off the stage from 2014’s show, where we exhibited to sell-out crowds for the 6th consecutive year.
For those of you who don’t know, The Hair Show at Salon International is the London Fashion Week of the hairdressing industry. It’s a huge event with hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors. The show features demonstrations, seminars, presentations and product launches from the world’s finest hairdressing establishments. It’s also an opportunity to see the latest styles and trends before they hit the high street.
We’ve been exhibiting at the show for some years now, so it’s become something of a tradition for us. Since our first visit to Salon International, we’ve proved very popular with journalists, bloggers and visitors. Some of our previous exhibitions at the show have included a blow dry bar, a Wall of Fame (where visitors could show off their new 'dos) and interactive product launches.
Every year gets better and better. And we think 2014 was our biggest year yet.
What did we get up to this year at Salon International?
Well, our Art Team delivered non-stop live demonstrations, shared lots of insider style tips and gave free treatments to lucky visitors. There were product demos and huge giveaways too. But that’s not all - because we also had some very special visitors throughout the weekend.
On Sunday, Karen and Charles Dodds from the multi award winning Cutting Room Creative stopped by the stand. Karen and Charles’ accolades include the North Western Hairdresser of the Year award 2002, 2003 and 2004. They have also won the L’Oreal Colour Trophy (Northern region) 3 times. Their work has featured in Vogue magazine and they have performed before a 4,000 strong crowd in Las Vegas for TIGI.
Andrew Barton visited us on the Monday. You may recognise Andrew from the hit TV makeover show “10 Years Younger”. He is one of the industry’s most experienced and highly regarded figures. He has won both the British Hairdresser of the Year and Ultimate Hair Icon awards and is frequently named “Best Hairdresser” by beauty editors. We were thrilled to host Andrew at the show.
On Monday we were also visited by the one and only Trevor Sorbie. Trevor is the Global Ambassador for KeraStraight and we were honoured to have him with us at the event. Trevor rarely makes appearances like this so it was a real coup for us. The man is a hairdressing legend with a career spanning more than 45 years. Our partnership with Trevor Sorbie is founded on a likeminded approach to innovative yet accessible hairdressing.
Salon International 2014 Reviews
Reviews from the show have already been filtering in. The lovely Erin from Islandbell blog wrote a really in-depth review (with lots of fab pictures) of the KS Ultimate Treatment she received from the Trevor Sorbie stylists. Her natural hair is beautiful, but in the words of Erin, “thick, wavy and unruly”. She received the KS Ultimate Treatment which smoothed and tamed her ultra-long locks. A few days after the treatment, Erin gave her final verdict:

Over at The London Economic, lifestyle editor, Charlotte Hope wrote about her experience at Salon International 2014. Charlotte has bleached blonde hair which is prone to snapping and becomes incredibly dry in winter; so we treated her to the Intense Boost mask. She was very pleased with the results and recommends a KS treatment for the Christmas party season.
