Alfie Booth is a Director at Trevor Sorbie and – luckily for us - an admired and valued member and mentor within the KeraStraight Art Team. But where did it all start?
A dual passion for styling and educating
Alfie’s career and reputation within the hair industry got off to a flying start at Andrew Collinge Salon in his hometown – Manchester. With a passion for educating as well as hair styling, Alfie ran the Andrew Collinge Training Academy as Head of Education, before being drawn to the bright lights of London where he joined SACO Hair Academy. With such tremendous experience under his belt, Alfie returned to Manchester as Head of Education at Trevor Sorbie before becoming a Director.
We asked about Alfie’s dual passion for educating and styling, and his role as a mentor for the KeraStraight Art Team. He said, “I believe the education you receive has the power to make or break futures and I take that responsibility very seriously.
“I'm looking forward to sharing experiences with stylists from companies other than my own and seeing the unique approaches people have to working with the product,” he added. “Every person, salon and client is different and working with the KeraStraight Art Team will help us all improve our understanding of KeraStraight. We can then give that knowledge back to the industry.”
When asked about Alfie’s stand-out moments as part of our Art Team, KeraStraight’s founder, Jez Barnett, recapped:
“Alfie hosted Salon International last year and was a fantastic compere. However, his stand out moment with us so far has to be his hosting of our new step by step DVD where he leads our Art Team through 4 different models. The Art Team was coached by The One Show's Michael Douglas and at the end of it, Alfie was giving Michael a run for his money!”

Alfie said, “‘Cut, colour, KeraStraight,' is my seminar mantra now. And my motto is ‘Take what you do seriously, not yourself'.”
