Step-by-Step
The Hair was gently cleansed with KeraStraight Pre-Treatment Shampoo to open up the hair shaft and soften the hair in readiness for the treatment. This was rinsed and repeated. The second shampoo was left on for 10 minutes to open up the hair cuticle before rinsing.
Sarays's natural Afro curl is still obvious.
Once rinsed, hair was dried with a medium heat to remove 100% of the moisture.
50ml of KeraStraight KS Intensive treatment was transferred into a bowl. Starting at the nape, the Treatment was applied in sections approximately 1cm apart, close to - but not directly onto - the roots, and was continued through to the ends.
The treatment was left to sink in for 20 minutes and the hair was checked to ensure all was still damp before progressing to the next stage. It is essential to ensure hair is thoroughly dampened. Under-application may create a less even result. Very porous hair can over-absorb the treatment so more treatment may be required.
KeraStraight KS Intensive was blow dried into the hair, ensuring that the hair was completely dry prior to the next step. The dryer was kept on a medium setting. A KeraStraight paddle brush was used to ensure the hair was completely dry and smoothed ready for ironing. The hair was given a 2 minute blast with cool air to remove some of the heavy feeling.
With the straightening irons set at 210°, sections were taken, starting at the nape, between 0.5 and 1cm in thickness. Each section was ironed steadily once to create a seal, then a further 10-12 times to lock in the repair and new shape. A KeraStraight EasyComb was used to help control tension and to achieve maximum protection and consistency of results.
Once ironed completely, the hair was left to settle for 30 minutes before being rinsed for 5 minutes, cleansed with KeraStraight Straight Maintain Shampoo and then conditioned with Straight Maintain Conditioner.
A radical transformation of repair and straightening.
The finished result is stunning same-day conditioned, healthy and shiny, straight hair which can be kept salon perfect by the client for up to four months with the simple regime of KeraStraight Straight Maintain Shampoo and Conditioner.
